The complete set (stamps and souvenir sheet) was originally designed with the following text and error: 30^th ANNIVERSARY of NATIONAL CIVIL AVIATION ORGANISATION. This error was noticed at the time of printing, thus before the perforation of the sheets; only imperforated items are available with this error, as the items with the error were not issued. The new issue was eventually released with the correct text: 30^th ANNIVERSARY of INTERNATIONAL CIVIL AVIATION ORGANISATION.

Background: Although ICAO’s 30^th anniversary was celebrated on 4 April 1977, Yemen released this issue only in 1979. However, the stamps and souvenir sheet indicate vertically on their left side: 23 March 1977 (see here the enlarged picture). The only explanation in the date difference could come from the error detected at the time of perforation as mentioned here above and the delay required to issue the correct set. Note that the Organization’s name is printed with s instead of z. The correct name is: International Civil Aviation Organization.
