Philatelic notice printed by the Swaziland Stamp Bureau; it shows a major error, i.e. that the Organization was formerly established on December 7, 1994. The Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation was signed on 7 December 1944, and not in 1994.

It is also interesting to note that the word Organization is properly spelled on the philatelic notice, whereas the First Day Cover (see below) shows this word with “s” instead of “z”.

Background : On 19 April 2018 (the year of the 50th anniversary of the country’s independence), the official name of the country was changed from Kingdom of Swaziland to Kingdom of Eswatini (or Eswatini as the ICAO’s official name of the country), mirroring the name commonly used in Swazi. The population is composed primarily of ethnic Swazis and the prevalent language is Swazi.
