STAMP ISSUES RELATED TO ICAO (1994-1995)

Official First Day Cover. The aircraft on the cachet looks like an Airbus A340-300 of Air Lanka (which was re-branded to SriLankan Airlines in 1998) at Bandaranaike International Airport. Note that the word ORGANISATION in the cancel (at Taj Samudra Hotel) should be written with Z instead of S. The name of the Organization is correctly printed in the cachet.
First Day Cover. Cancel at Matale. Matale, often written as Mathale, is a large town in the Matale District of the Central Province of Sri Lanka. It is 142 kilometres (88 mi) from Colombo and near Kandy.
Philatelic notice related to this issue. Two inaccuracies are noticed: 1. In the second paragraph, it should be more rightly stated that, on 7 December 1944, the Delegations signed (and not ratified) their adherence to the new Convention, named Chicago Convention. 2. At the beginning of the 3^rd paragraph, the acronym of the Organization should be written: ICAO (and not IACO).
