Background: The Republic of Korea joined ICAO on 11 December 1952 (30 days after the deposit of its instruments of adherence to the Convention on International Civil Aviation), whereas this country joined the United Nations on 17 September 1991 along with the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. On 11 December 1962, the Republic of Korea issued a stamp and a souvenir sheet for the 10^th anniversary of its signing of the Chicago Convention.
